Softball Recap: Roosevelt Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Roosevelt entered their tilt with Lincoln on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 17-7 victory. Considering the Roughriders have won five games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ruby Frish looked comfortable as she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.

On the hitting side, Roosevelt got a massive performance out of Livi Jones, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabella Murphy, who fired off four runs, four doubles, and two RBI while going 4-for-4.

Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Roosevelt's record is now 7-5. As for Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Roosevelt and Lincoln will both be playing Cleveland the next time they take the field. The Cardinals will head out to face the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Roughriders will head out to face them on Friday.
