Basketball Game Preview: Seton Saints vs. St. Ursula Academy Bulldogs

The Seton Saints will head out to face off against the St. Ursula Academy Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Seton is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Mount Notre Dame just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 48-37 to Mount Notre Dame. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Mount Notre Dame are ranked 13th).

Despite their defeat, Seton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aubri Korfhagen, who posted nine points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Breylee Schmutte, who put up five points.

Even though they lost, Seton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Ursula Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-37 win over Mercy McAuley on Thursday.

St. Ursula Academy has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Seton, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Seton skirted past St. Ursula Academy 67-65 in their previous matchup on January 9th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
