Basketball Game Preview: Oak Grove Grizzlies vs. North Davidson Black Knights

The Oak Grove Grizzlies will face off against the North Davidson Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Oak Grove is headed into Friday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 72-70 heartbreaker at the hands of Ledford. That's two games in a row now that the Grizzlies have lost by exactly two points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Davidson). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Montgomery Central 80-50. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Black Knights as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Oak Grove better keep an eye on Ryan Forrest. He was instrumental in North Davidson's win, going 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave Forrest a new career-high in points. Lincoln Davis was another key player, going 7 for 9 en route to 14 points.

North Davidson was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for North Davidson, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Oak Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over North Davidson when the teams last played on January 9th, winning 73-60. Does Oak Grove have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Davidson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
