After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clear Dot Charter, Augusta Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Georgia School for Innovation & Classics Patriots a 14-0 shutout. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Augusta Christian found their leader in sophomore Harris Janik, who rushed for 207 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 61 yards and one TD. Janik was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.

Augusta Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Augusta Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hampton Whitfield and Jackson Stickel.

Augusta Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Looking ahead, Augusta Christian will face off against Ben Lippen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Georgia School for Innovation & Classics does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
