Football Recap: GV Christian Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Coral Academy of Science - Reno last Saturday, GV Christian came back down to earth. The Guardians had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of the North Tahoe Lakers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Guardians came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 71st in Nevada, while the Lakers are ranked 1044th in California).

Dean Cootware threw for 71 yards on 11 of 30 attempts. Julian Walls was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards.

North Tahoe's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Everett Coughlin, who threw for 184 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Seth Hendricks did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 41 receiving yards.

GV Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, GV Christian will square off against Battle Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Tahoe, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 1:00 p.m. on the 13th.
