Recap: Hernando Leopards vs. Hernando Christian Academy Lions
The Hernando Leopards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 30 points or more this season. They took their contest at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 56-26 win over Hernando Christian Academy. The victory was just what Hernando needed coming off of a 59-36 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hernando to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayla Holloman, who scored 22 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Holloman has scored at least 25% of Hernando's points. Tyrah Gary was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Hernando's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Hernando Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1.
Hernando won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Nature Coast Tech's defense has only allowed 26.7 points per game this season, so Hernando's offense will have their work cut out for Hernando. Hernando Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Classical Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
