Basketball Game Preview: Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Poplar Springs Atomics

Vernon is 1-9 against Poplar Springs since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vernon Yellowjackets will square off against the Poplar Springs Atomics at 7:00 p.m. Vernon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Vernon lost to Ponce De Leon on the road by a 60-46 margin.

Meanwhile, Poplar Springs was able to grind out a solid win over Wewahitchka on Monday, taking the game 58-45.

Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Poplar Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Vernon lost to Poplar Springs on the road by a decisive 66-47 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can Vernon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
