Basketball Game Preview: Sumner Spartans vs. Woodinville Falcons

Having just played yesterday, the Sumner Spartans will jump right back in to play the Woodinville Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Sumner is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-47 win over Camas. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Meanwhile, Woodinville faced Auburn in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Woodinville was the clear victors by a 69-45 margin over Auburn. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 22 points or more this season.

Woodinville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Sumner, their win bumped their record up to 25-4.

Sumner came up short against Woodinville in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 52-42. Can Sumner avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
