Volleyball Recap: Central Christian Takes a Loss

If Central Christian was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of East Hill Christian back in August, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints fell just short of the West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Conquerors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss on Saturday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Central Christian sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-16, 18-25, 15-11.

West Florida Baptist Academy was led to victory by Ande Johnson and Mary Kathryn Drummond. Johnson had 24 assists and four digs, while Drummond had 36 assists and four digs. Drummond is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 23 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Central Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

West Florida Baptist Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against L.E.A.D. Academy on the 11th. Hopefully Central Christian paid attention to the Conquerors' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Conquerors at 7:00 p.m.
