Basketball Recap: Preston Indians vs. Pocatello Thunder
Preston lost against Pocatello back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Preston Indians came up short against the Pocatello Thunder, falling 63-39. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Thunder are ranked ninth).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pocatello to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kennasyn Garza, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Garza is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Abby Lusk was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 13 points.
Preston now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Pocatello, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Preston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-58 loss against Idaho Falls on the 28th. Pocatello has also already played their next matchup, a 37-26 win against Rigby on the 28th.
