Glenwood Springs is 9-1 against Steamboat Springs since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Demons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sailors at 11:00 a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Glenwood Springs is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 12th on Tuesday. They came up short against Summit, falling 11-2. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Demons' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Steamboat Springs and Rifle had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Sailors lost 10-1 to the Bears on Saturday.

Steamboat Springs saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rickey Hernandez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Another was Nathan Bustamante, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Steamboat Springs dropped their record down to 8-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Glenwood Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Glenwood Springs took their win against Steamboat Springs when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Sailors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
