Basketball Recap: East Helena Vigilantes vs. Jefferson Panthers

East Helena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-39 loss at the hands of the Jefferson Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vigilantes of the 79-51 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

It was another big night for Ryian Eveland, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds for Jefferson. Eveland has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cameron Toney, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 17 points.

East Helena's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Jefferson, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Helena will challenge Butte Central Catholic on Tuesday. As for Jefferson, they will take on Ennis at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
