Basketball Recap: Browne Comes Up Short

Browne lost to Maryvale two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bruins took a blow against the Panthers, falling 85-49. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Browne's loss came despite strong showings from Karmello Walker and Tony Bayigamba. Walker dropped a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds, while Bayigamba went 8-for-15 en route to 17 points and six boards. The matchup was Walker's fourth in a row with at least 19 points.

Leading Maryvale to victory were Adrian Stubbs and Mikel Montgomery. Stubbs shot 53% from the field on his way to 20 points along with eight assists and seven steals, while Montgomery made all 7 shots he took for 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those 18 points gave Montgomery a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Thiago Esquivel, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points.

Browne's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Maryvale, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7.

As of now, neither Browne nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
