The Stevenson Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stevenson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Stevenson took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against North Monterey County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-11 heartbreaker at the hands of Rancho San Juan. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Monte Vista Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Stevenson, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-4.
