Basketball Game Preview: Salem Hills Skyhawks vs. Hunter Wolverines

The Salem Hills Skyhawks and the Hunter Wolverines will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Salem Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.

Salem Hills is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 21st on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Mountain Ridge an easy 70-48 victory. The contest marked the Skyhawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Loss or not, Salem Hills got some senior leadership from Jacoby Gustin and Kade Moser. Gustin went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points, while Moser went 6 of 15 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Gustin a new career-high in steals (two).

Meanwhile, Hunter lost to Brighton on the road by a 79-65 margin on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now lost five in a row.

Hunter's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Salem Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
