Basketball Recap: Waurika Comes Up Short

Waurika was the 45-42 winner over Healdton when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Waurika Eagles lost to the Healdton Bulldogs at home by a 44-28 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 145th).

Waurika dropped their record down to 8-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Healdton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Waurika has already played their next matchup, a 55-21 loss against Walters on the 31st. As for Healdton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-40 win against Velma-Alma on the 31st.
