Westfield has gone 8-2 against Brownsburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Shamrocks will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Westfield 1.8, Brownsburg 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Westfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Cathedral, who was ranked eighth at the time (Westfield was ranked 11th). The Shamrocks never let the Fighting Irish get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Wednesday.

Westfield got a great performance from Sam Flickinger as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Flickinger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Johnny Ewing was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Nick Fero also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Brownsburg put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Varsity Opponent by a score of 7-3. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Westfield's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average this season. As for Brownsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Westfield was able to grind out a solid win over Brownsburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 9-5. Will the Shamrocks repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
