Mattoon extended the longest winning streak in Apollo this week by beating Jersey, 48-33. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Charleston fell to Highland 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Colin McInerney caught 4 passes for 34 yards in the defeat.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Salem's Riley Martin and Evan Maxey have proven to be a lethal combination. Martin has thrown for 678 yards this season, while Maxey has 19 catches for 260 yards. Charleston's Myles Decker leads the league in rushing yards with 1,320.
Mattoon made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,610 from 6,235. The improvement was largely due to a 48-33 victory over the Panthers last week.
