Norfolk and Grand Island are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Norfolk Panthers will head out to face off against the Grand Island Islanders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norfolk has now lost 14 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 21.

Norfolk is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took an 81-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Burke on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Grand Island hadn't done well against Lincoln East recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Grand Island walked away with a 64-52 win over Lincoln East.

Norfolk better keep an eye on Babur Choul. He was instrumental in Grand Island's win, going 9-for-19 on his way to 27 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Choul has become a key player for Grand Island: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 20 points, but 5-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Broxton Barrientos, who went 5-for-8 en route to 13 points.

Grand Island's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Norfolk, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Norfolk came up short against Grand Island in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 58-47. Can Norfolk avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
