Softball Recap: Chariton Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Chariton strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Cardinal Comets by a score of 5-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2024.

Chariton pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average this season. As for Cardinal, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-3.

Chariton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on the 4th. As for Cardinal, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-1 defeat against Albia on the 4th.
