Basketball Recap: Osceola Takes Down Poinciana in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Osceola had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 76-61 victory over the Poinciana Eagles on Thursday. The Kowboys haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Leading Osceola to victory were Jordan Isaac and Luke Mccrimon. Isaac went 13 for 22 en route to 32 points, while Mccrimon went 8 of 15 to rack up 26 points and three steals. That's the most points Isaac has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mundle, who had 11 points and six rebounds.

Poinciana lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jahmel Hill, who put up 12 points. Javonte Simpson-Lee was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Osceola's record is now 23-3. As for Poinciana, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Osceola will square off against Riverview Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverview Sarasota knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully Osceola likes a good challenge. As for Poinciana, they will face off against Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sarasota will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Poinciana surely won't give up without a fight.
