Football Game Preview: Vincent Yellow Jackets vs. Falkville Blue Devils + Official Tickets

The Vincent Yellow Jackets will take on the Falkville Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Vincent sitting on four straight victories and Falkville on six.

Vincent barely beat Montevallo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellow Jackets took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 47-19 win over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won six games by 25 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vincent to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Roberts, who rushed for 125 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Roberts a new career-high. Landon Archer also helped with two TDs in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vincent was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 262 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Vincent didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wyatt Carlisle and Calvin Johnson. Another thorn in Montevallo's side was Cayden Carroll, who made 16 total tackles.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Falkville against Winston County on Thursday as the team secured a 42-14 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Blue Devils have posted against the Yellowjackets since October 14, 2016.

Vincent better keep an eye on Brodie Bennett. He was instrumental in Falkville's win, rushing for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards and one score. Bennett's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Samuel Jacobs, who threw for 118 yards and a pair of TDs.

Vincent's record now sits at 8-2. As for Falkville, their record is now an identical 8-2.
