Softball Recap: Seaforth Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Seaforth and Midway squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Seaforth had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-2. The Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Emma Grace Hill was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 8.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hill wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Annika Johansson, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Seaforth's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Midway, their victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Seaforth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Midway has already played their next game (against South Granville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
