Softball Recap: L.C. Bird Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against James River Midlothian, L.C. Bird was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hermitage Panthers by a score of 10-7. For the Skyhawks, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Courtney Spence spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Charlotte Harlow was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Jordan Tate was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

With the victory, L.C. Bird broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Hermitage, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

L.C. Bird will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
