Baseball Game Preview: Camp Point Central Panthers vs. Seymour Indians

The Camp Point Central Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Seymour Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Camp Point Central came into this matchup off a tough seven-run defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Canton by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nate Peters made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Petersen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Calhoun hit Seymour with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians fell 7-3 to the Warriors. The Indians have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Seymour also got a good showing from Isiah Brass, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Brass has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Blake Schwartz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Camp Point Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Camp Point Central might still be hurting after the 15-2 loss they got from Seymour in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
