Baseball Game Preview: Riverview Sarasota Rams vs. Mariner Tritons

The Riverview Sarasota Rams will venture away from home to challenge the Mariner Tritons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverview Sarasota has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 5th.

Things were looking good for Riverview Sarasota after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Bonita Springs by a score of 4-2.

Morgan Peggs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Riverview Sarasota saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JR Hudson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Mariner's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Evangelical Christian by a score of 3-2.

Princeton (PJ) Marino was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Kotarski, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Riverview Sarasota's record now sits at 3-15. As for Mariner, their record is now 13-6.
