Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Joseph Estes and Cooper Sims Lead Pendleton Heights to Victory

Pendleton Heights won the last time they faced Frankton and things went their way on Monday too. The Pendleton Heights Arabians took down the Frankton Eagles 51-34. That looming 51-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Arabians yet this season.

Leading Pendleton Heights to victory were Cooper Sims and Joseph Estes. Sims went 5 of 8 en route to 17 points, while Estes posted eight points. Sims' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashaan Singh, who had four points and five steals.

Frankton's loss came despite strong showings from Brady Carmack and Noah Melvin. Carmack put up eight points, while Melvin earned five points. Grayer Cline also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Pendleton Heights has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Frankton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pendleton Heights will welcome New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Palestine knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Pendleton Heights likes a good challenge. As for Frankton, they will host Madison-Grant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Frankton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.
