Softball Game Preview: Wamego Red Raiders vs. Seaman Vikings

The Wamego Red Raiders will head out to square off against the Seaman Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Wamego will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Wamego had just enough and edged out Marysville 6-4.

The team relied heavily on Alana McCarthy, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Seaman made sure to put some runs up on the board against Manhattan on Wednesday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Indians. Considering the Vikings have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aubrey Warren was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Claire Watkins also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Seaman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Wamego, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
