Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Road Wins for Brownstown

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Brownstown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They managed a 51-46 win over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats. The squad ran away with 32 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Leading Brownstown to victory were Dayana Haslett and Madi Miller. Haslett posted 19 points and five rebounds, while Miller dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Peyton Barker, who put up 11 points.

Despite the loss, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City still got an impressive performance from Macee Rodman, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine steals. Rodman has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Haley Doty was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Brownstown pushed their record up to 24-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.

Brownstown has already played their next game, a 54-36 defeat against Nokomis on the 4th. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 43-34 loss against Sandoval on the 4th.
