Softball Game Preview: Spring Valley Vikings vs. River Bluff Gators

Spring Valley is 1-6 against River Bluff since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Gators at 5:30 p.m. Spring Valley has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Spring Valley is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to Lugoff-Elgin.

Lexington hit River Bluff with a seven-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Gators came up short against the Wildcats, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Gators in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Spring Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for River Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11-2.

Spring Valley might still be hurting after the 23-8 loss they got from River Bluff when the teams last played back in April of 2018. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
