Baseball Game Preview: Tri-City Christian Eagles vs. Escondido Charter Tigers

For the second straight game, Tri-City Christian will face off against Escondido Charter. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-City Christian has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tri-City Christian's offense. They came up short against Escondido Charter on Wednesday, falling 28-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

For Escondido Charter's part, Sam Romero was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Romero has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Curtis Williams was a standout: he went 4-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liam McGinty, who went 5-for-6 with six RBI and four runs.
