Baseball Recap: Italy Comes Up Short

Italy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 18-4 to the Abbott Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-5 back in February.

Italy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier DeLaHoya, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave DeLaHoya a new career-high.

Italy's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Abbott, the win got them back to even at 6-6-1.

Coming up, Italy will head out to take on Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Abbott, they will face off against Axtell at 4:30 p.m. on March 25th.
