Baseball Recap: Firelands Comes Up Short

If Firelands was riding high fresh off their 20-9 takedown of Black River on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Midview Middies on Wednesday, falling 15-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 8-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2016.

Jeremy Stepp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Firelands: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise.

Firelands' loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Midview, their record is now 7-13.

While Firelands had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
