Baseball Recap: Queensbury Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Queensbury got themselves on the board against Troy on Tuesday, but Troy never followed suit. They blew past the Flying Horses 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Evan Fiore, who gave up just three hits to keep Troy off the board. Fiore has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Queensbury got a big performance out of Tyler Dorvee, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Rolleston, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Queensbury's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Troy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Queensbury will venture away from home to face off against Glens Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Black Bears have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Troy, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Cohoes at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Flying Horses' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
