Basketball Game Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Willard Crimson Flashes

Edison is 1-9 against Willard since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Edison Chargers will host the Willard Crimson Flashes at 1:00 p.m.

Edison is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 30, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 56-32 to Clyde.

Willard's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Columbian on Thursday. Willard simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Vermilion 57-30. Given the Crimson Flashes' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Sailors are ranked 474th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edison now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Willard, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Edison took a serious blow against Willard in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 65-27. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Edison was down 41-13.
