Basketball Recap: Stall Comes Up Short

Stall played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the James Island Trojans, falling 68-28. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Stall lost, don't look at Ja'Niha Brown. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points and six rebounds. Alibeth Victoria Lazaro also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Madisyn Smith was nothing short of spectacular for James Island: she went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points along with eight assists and three steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tiana Graf, who went 5 for 12 en route to 11 points.

Stall's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for James Island, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9.

Stall didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-32 loss against Fort Dorchester on the 28th. James Island has also already played their next match, a 77-31 defeat against Ashley Ridge on the 29th.
