Basketball Game Preview: Arp Tigers vs. Troup Tigers

The Arp Tigers will take on the Troup Tigers in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arp has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Troup will come in with six straight victories.

Arp came up into this matchup off a tough 21-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of West Rusk by a score of 42-40 on Friday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Troup challenged Sabine on Friday. Troup walked away with a 35-22 win over Sabine. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Cardinals are ranked 1144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arp's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Troup, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Arp came up short against Troup in their previous matchup back in January, falling 35-26. Can Arp avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
