Volleyball Preview: Rockwall Yellowjackets vs. Longview Lobos

Rockwall has gone 6-0 against Longview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rockwall Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Longview Lobos at 5:30 p.m. Rockwall is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Last Tuesday, Rockwall made easy work of Tyler Legacy and carried off a 3-0 win.

Rockwall never let Tyler Legacy on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-18.

Rockwall can attribute much of their success to Audrey St.Clair, who had 14 digs, and Maddie Holden, who had six digs and two aces. St.Clair is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Janie Deapen, who had 12 kills.

Meanwhile, Longview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Rockwall-Heath.

While Longview was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Rockwall-Heath's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-22.

Rockwall pushed their record up to 22-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Longview, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.

Everything went Rockwall's way against Longview when the teams last played back in October of 2019, as Rockwall made off with a 3-0 win.
