Baseball Recap: Sheridan Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lewis Cass, Sheridan was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bethesda Christian Patriots with a sharp 13-4 win. Considering the Blackhawks' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Caleb Alexander was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelan Bochner, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Sheridan's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Bethesda Christian, their record is now 3-3.

Coming up, Sheridan will welcome Western Boone at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blackhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stars have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Bethesda Christian, they will head out to square off against Clinton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
