Baseball Game Preview: Layton Lancers vs. Syracuse Titans

For the second straight game, Layton will face off against Syracuse. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Layton hadn't beaten Syracuse on the road since April 20, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Titans.

The team relied heavily on Will Hoffman, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Layton's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 2-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Paul York, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
