Basketball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 45-26 fall against the North Platte Bulldogs. The Minutemen lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-14 score last time.

North Platte's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abby Kaminski led the charge by going 6 for 9 on her way to 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Kaminski a new career-high in points. Addison Uehling was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for North Platte, the win snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 4-8 record.

Lexington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-30 loss against McCook on the 21st. North Platte has also already played their next contest, a 41-27 defeat against Sidney on the 18th.
