Newton skates past Clarkdale with ease

There's no place like home for the Newton Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 71-29 victory over Clarkdale at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Newton has managed all season.

Clarkdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Mcdill, who scored 12 points. The game was Mcdill's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cade Culpepper, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Newton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Clarkdale, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Newton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake at 7:30 p.m. As for Clarkdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Scott Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Scott Central is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
