Basketball Recap: Mission Oak Hawks vs. Independence Falcons
Mission Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Independence Falcons, falling 80-60. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2016.

Despite the loss, Mission Oak still got an impressive performance from Joaquin Torrez, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 22 points and eight steals. Torrez's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Sanchez, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Independence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier O'Neal, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points. Amarius Rowel was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points and five steals.
Mission Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Independence, their record now sits at 9-3.
Mission Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 97-90 loss against Justin Garza on the 30th. As for Independence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-42 win against Sierra on the 30th.
