Jersey has gone a perfect 7-0 against Granite City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers will welcome the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Jersey is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Jersey came out on top against Highland on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-1 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Paxton Weirich spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Anna Kribs was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Chloe Beemer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jersey kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Granite City was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Quincy. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Granite City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Carnahan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Alexis Ruiz was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Jersey's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Granite City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.
Granite City's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Jersey has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Granite City, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 strikeouts. Will Jersey keep running through batters, or will the Warriors buck the trend?
Jersey got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Granite City by a conclusive 10-3 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
