Softball Preview: Negreet Indians vs. Oberlin Tigers
After three games on the road, Negreet is heading back home. They will take on the Oberlin Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
Last Tuesday, Negreet fell victim to a tough 15-1 loss at the hands of Converse.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Oberlin made sure to put some runs up on the board against Gueydan on Thursday. Oberlin came out on top against Gueydan by a score of 14-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Megan Manuel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Manuel was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Addison Drummond was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Amber Manuel was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Negreet has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Oberlin, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
