Recap: Garland Owls vs. Wylie Pirates
If the Garland Owls were feeling good off their 65-41 takedown of the South Garland Titans last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Garland was outmatched by Wylie on the road and fell 65-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Garland has scored all season.
Garland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Busik, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennon Workmon, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Garland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Wylie, they pushed their record up to 21-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Garland will take on Lakeview Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Garland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Wylie, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-31 win vs. South Garland on the 9th.
