If Murphysboro was riding high  fresh off their  41-6 takedown of Anna-Jonesboro last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Devils took a  blow against the Benton Rangers on Friday, falling  42-7. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  21-0.
  Riley Spencer was nothing short of spectacular for Benton: he rushed for 114 yards and a pair of  touchdowns. Those  114  rushing yards gave  Spencer a new career-high.
Murphysboro now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Benton, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
