Football Game Preview: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. Central Bears

The Weeki Wachee Hornets will challenge the Central Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Weeki Wachee 8.2, Central 11.1) so any points scored will be well earned.

Weeki Wachee's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Crystal River, posting a 33-0 win. That looming 33-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hornets yet this season.

Weeki Wachee's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Nevaeh Clark and Ireland Rock, who each picked up one interception apiece.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Central's offense. They fell 7-0 to Tarpon Springs on Wednesday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Spongers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Weeki Wachee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.6 points on average over those games. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
