Preview: School of the Ozarks Patriots vs. Classical Saints
The School of the Ozarks Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Classical Saints at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. School of the Ozarks will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 264th in Missouri, while Classical is ranked 81st in Kansas).
School of the Ozarks has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by Niangua 68-41 on Thursday. School of the Ozarks was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Graham Wilhoit, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Caleb Widner was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Classical came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 55-50 W over Waverly.
School of the Ozarks has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. As for Classical, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
School of the Ozarks might still be hurting after the 52-28 loss they got from Classical in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can School of the Ozarks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
