Softball Game Preview: Hawkins Hawks vs. Como-Pickton Eagles

Hawkins has won five straight games at home, while Como-Pickton has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Hawkins Hawks challenge Como-Pickton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hawkins is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since February 22nd on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cumby 6-5.

The team relied heavily on Taetum Smith, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Londyn Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Meanwhile, Como-Pickton made easy work of Chisum on Tuesday and carried off a 15-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Como-Pickton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. Hawkins' victory bumped their record up to 11-8-1.
